About Heat, pollen and bathing etiquette

Tokyo’s summers are hot and humid: carry water and rest in the shade. Many people wear masks in spring for cedar pollen. In onsen and sentō, wash at the taps before entering the bath, and keep towels out of the water. Some medicines common elsewhere are restricted in Japan: GOV.UK advises checking before you travel with them.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Heat, pollen and bathing etiquette before you go.
